What Religion is Your Bra? – Friday Funny

>> Friday, September 3, 2010

A man walked into the ladies department of Macy's   and shyly walked up to   the woman behind the counter and said,   'I'd like to buy a bra for my wife. '

'What type of bra?' asked the clerk.

'Type?', inquires the man, 'There's more than one type?'

'Look around,' said the saleslady, as she showed a sea of bras in every shape, size, color and material imaginable.

'Actually, even with all of this variety, there are really only four types of bras to choose from ..'

Relieved, the man asked   about the types.

The saleslady replied:

'There are the Catholic,
the Salvation Army,
the Presbyterian,
and the Baptist types.

Which one would you prefer?'

Now totally befuddled, the man asked about  the differences between them.

The Saleslady responded, 'It is all really quite simple.
The Catholic type supports the masses;
The Salvation Army type lifts the fallen;
The Presbyterian type keeps them staunch and upright;
The Baptist type makes mountains out of molehills.'

Have you ever wondered why A, B, C, D, DD, E, F, G, and H are the letters used to define bra sizes?

If you have wondered why, but couldn't figure out  what the letters stood for,  it is about time  you became informed!

(A} Almost Boobs...
{B} Barely there...
{C} Can't Complain!..
{D} Dang!...
{DD} Double dang!...
{E} Enormous!...
{F} Fake...
{G} Get a Reduction...
{H} Help me, I've fallen  and I can't get up!...

By the way,

Tinker Bell & The Great Fairy Rescue

>> Thursday, September 2, 2010

I LOVE that my girls are basically young adults.

But, there are times when I could just sit and cry because I miss them being little.

I miss the tiny hands, the quiet voices saying ‘Mommy’, and the childlike joy when a new Disney movie comes out.

Well, actually, we still get excited over Disney movies.. but back to what I was saying.

You see, when my girls were growing up, Tinker Bell was still just the little fairy in Peter Pan. Although she was adorable flying around Neverland, these days she's gone ‘high tech’ and gotten even more adorable.
Just the other day, the three of us sat down during lunch and watched a Tinker Bell movie that was playing on the Disney Channel. I kept looking at my girls and saying.. “How cute is this”.

And now she’s even throwing big parties to kick off her movies with her fairy friends and big movie stars!

My girls and I would have LOVED To be a part of this “Picnic of the Park” Premiere of Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue.

Gluten Free Wednesday – Apricot-Ginger Chicken

>> Wednesday, September 1, 2010

Gluten-Free%20Wednesdays2_thumb[1]

I adapted this recipe form the Not Your Mother’s Slow Cooker cookbook. It worked beautifully, the house smelled amazing all day, and it tasted DELICIOUS!

Our family is only gluten intolerant, so remember to substitute gluten free products where needed.

Crockpot Apricot-Ginger Chicken
2 to 4 tablespoons olive oil
4 lbs chicken legs, skin removed, rinsed, patted dry
3/4 cup apricot preserves
1/2 cup orange marmalade
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
1 tablespoon sesame oil ( I skipped this – it was too expensive at the store)
2 cloves of garlic, pressed
3 medium-size shallots, finely chopped
1 teaspoon peeled and grated fresh ginger ( I used dry ginger)
1 bunch of green onions for garnish

1. Coat the inside of the crock with olive oil spray

2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, warm 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Add chicken in batches (adding more oil as needed) and brown, turning once or twice and transferring the chicken to the crock as it browns.

3. In a medium size bowl, combine the preserves, marmalade, soy sauce, oil, garlic, shallots, and ginger with a fork. Pour the mixture over the chicken. Cover and cook on High for 2 1/2 to 3 hours, until chicken is tender and cooked through.

4. Remove the chicken with tongs from the crock and place on dinner plates or large platter. Serve sprinkled with green onions.

Which Color to Pick? Glidden Will Help

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Glidden. All opinions are 100% mine.

Remember the old days when you would have to been really confident in the color you were going to paint a room because you had to commit to buying a whole gallon. Ugh. That was always scary for me. I do not have an eye for color.

images[2] But times have changed. You can now get these cute little paint testers that save you time and most of all, money!

I LOVE these things. You can try out more than one color and they are so easy to use. I’ve tried other brands before, but these are really cool because they come with their own little brush that allows to test right from the bottle!

I was also read an awesome idea/other use for the testers. They would be great for touch ups! For marks on the wall that just won’t come out, you could just grab a little bottle of this and Voila, instant fix! And they’re so small, you can just keep them in a cabinet somewhere.

Recently I just found out too, that you can visit Glidden web site and purchase testers online! That is really convenient!

The web site has tons of different ideas and information to help anyone with any project.

The area I’m trying to figure out is my kitchen/living room. It’s all one big room and when we built this house I thought it would be really neat to have rounded corners on the wall. What I didn’t know was this would make it really hard to change from one color to another because it all blends together.

So this weekend, my hubby and I are going to head out over to Home Depot and see if we can get a hold of some of these testers and try out a few colors.

Check out Glidden’s web site to see all the great info they have on there.
